BOOK REVIEWS: A whole bunch of festive cheer

The plan for the next four weeks or so is try and get up to date with ALL my outstanding (by which I mean “ones I haven’t done” rather than “excellent”, though they could be both of course) book reviews.

Considering this includes 3 series worth of Rick Riordan’s brand of modern day mythology, give-or-take a dozen Sanderson books and two full Robin Hobb trilogies – not to mention a bunch of other goodies including bits of The First Law and The Kingkiller Chronicle – this could be an ambitious goal.

Without further ado then, this week’s batch features everyone’s favourite demi-god son of Poseidon; the beginning of Brandon Sanderson’s YA “Reckoners” series; the brilliant second instalment of the Kingkiller Chronicle and a personal favourite of mine, the original Mistborn trilogy. Some of these are recent reads, others less so.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians Pentalogy by Rick Riordan

The Wise Man’s Fear (The Kingkiller Chronicle #2) by Patrick Rothfuss

Mistborn Trilogy by Brandon Sanderson

Steelheart (Reckoners #1) by Brandon Sanderson

To quote the Sirius Cybernetics Corporation robots please, “Share and Enjoy” (and definitely don’t go stick you head in a pig)!
Till next time,

DT
