BOOK REVIEWS: Wizards, Assassins, Lawmen and Rogues

Time for the latest batch of reviews featuring another eclectic journey through fantasy fiction with the minor detour of a trip to 1840s courtesy of Mr Harry P. Flashman.

As always, please share around if you think they may be of interest to people, Comments are welcome, and in fact actively encouraged, so if there is anything that sparks debate or piques your interest then let me know either below or via social media (links in sidebar).

Keep your eyes peeled for the last of my review "batches" - I've very nearly caught up with my backlog :-D

Plus I've got a couple of Q&As planned with Laura M. Hughes (author of the excellent short-story, Danse Macabre) and Daniel Potter (who has penned the very funny and off-the-wall, Off Leash). Though I need to get around to actually sending them the questions first!

Till next time,

BOOK REVIEWS: Hitchhiking, Librarians, Greek Gods and the battle for the Banished Lands

Cracking through the reviews now, in fact I’m almost down to single figures in terms of those which are outstanding.

This week’s feast consists of a fun trip into the world of Greek myth; the continuation (and ultimate conclusion) of one of fantasy’s best loved series; a great concept let down slightly by its plot and the second instalment of one of the best series of recent times.

And another thing (Hitchhiker’s Guide #6) by Eoin Colfer

Heroes of Olympus (Books 1 to 4) by Rick Riordan

Valour (The Faithful and the Fallen #2) by John Gwynne

Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians (Alcatraz #1) by Brandon Sanderson

Please feel free to share around.
And, good or bad, feedback and comments are always welcome

Till next time,

BOOK REVIEWS: First Batch of the Year

Another day, another batch of reviews to get your teeth into.

Featuring Joe Abercrombie's initial First Law installment, Brandon Sanderson's now nearly teenage Elantris (his first widely released book), Rick Riordan's take on Egyptian mythology and a fun little steampunk romp from the prolific Lindsay Buroker there should hopefully be something for everyone (well, provided you like fantasy books that is).

The reviews are hosted at Goodreads on the following links.

The Blade Itself (First Law #1) by Joe Abercrombie

Elantris by Brandon Sanderson

The Kane Chronicles by Rick Riordan

The Emperor's Edge (The Emperor's Edge #1) by Lindsay Buroker

Please feel free to read them and share them if you like them and (even if you don't like them) I'd really appreciate any and all comments/criticisms/threats etc.

Till next time,
DT
